My Books...

Belle Berroyer was born in Essex where she started her professional career in early years development and education. Throughout her varied career, she continued her professional studies, combining both academic research and practical experience knowledge.
In more recent years, she has written articles for various magazines and media platforms, as well as creating and delivering workshops on sensory awareness and autism for early years courses across the academic spectrum, as well as specific workplaces and support services for a multitude of neurotypes, particularly autism.
Belle offers environment support for families within their own homes, as well as 1-1 sessions for parents, carers and workplaces to enhance their knowledge of sensory awareness in autism.
In 2002, she relocated to mid-Wales where she became a mother. This is where her awareness of autism and sensory processing became truly active. Her son was born a non-speaking autistic. Teaching her his way of being human, she began to enquire deeply into the sensory aspect of living life. In doing so, she learnt about her own sensory challenges, which answered a lot of before, unknown questions about her own struggles growing up and it is from these roots that her writing springs...

I offer this experience because I wish for autistic people to be fully understood through their life experiences. A highly beneficial read for parents/carers who want the best for their ‘person’ offering unique provision for professionals in their wish to provide the best service for people of all ages they offer support.
Love, acceptance and true understanding and respect for neurodiverse individuals pour out of every page Belle ❤ it is a lovely book. Just so enlightening too. I keep thinking - oh I didn't think of it that way or I needed to be reminded of this or that!! I'm sure I'll have to reread it - a testimonial from a Mother to an autistic non non-speaking teenager - September 2023
My next book is currently being created which is all about Play, based around sensory processing and how this can affect how an autistic child plays with toys, other children and adults.
I have chapters explaining the different types of play, how developmentally a child moves through different play stages and why that may look different for your autistic person.
The purpose of this second book is to support parents/carers and early-year professionals as well as teachers, PAs and other therapists to understand the autistic person and their sensory needs, so that play can be enjoyed without the worry that you are not providing the right opportunities for them....
All play is purposeful to the person, which means it has value and learning, my book helps this to be seen more deeply by looking thoroughly into each sense and how toys and activities can support them, for the autistic person's pleasure right from birth.
